Well this has been one extremely busy month in our house. DJ graduated Friday night and we had his graduation party Saturday. It was wonderful. We had a very nice time visiting with friends and family. All 6 of my brothers and sisters were able to be here. Sam, Michele, and Keven and Michele's kids were not ablel to be here. That was the sad part. We all thought about them all day. My grandma became very ill Wednesday and it did not look like she was going to live, so my parents drove to Minnesota Thursday (about a 12 hour drive). It was one of the hardest decisions for them. They knew if they left, there was no way they could get back by Friday night for Dj's graduation ceremony. My mom cried and cried. She really wanted to try to see her mom before she died, but has waited DJ's whole life to see him graduate. I think they made the right choice. When they were almost there, miraculously grandma took a turn for the better. Mom and dad got to spend some time with grandma and get some pictures. Early Friday afternoon, they got on the road again and headed back home. THAT is alot of driving in 2 days, especially at my dad's age and considering what his body has been healing from. God was merciful and kept them safe and awake. My Uncle Bob, Aunt Wendy, and Uncle Merrill all came down from Wisconsin. They also had made the trip to Minnesota and then to Kentucky. I really appreciate all of them. I know they all were so exhausted. I think mom and dad finally got some sleep last night. Johnny Furlong and his son Ethan drove over form Oklahoma. It was sooooo good to spend time with them. It was just like old times. :) Becky Goodman and her kids were here also. Bryon had to work. :( Becky and I always have a good time together! Huh Bec!
It is hard to believe DJ is 18 and graduated. We were working on his class schedule for Murray State this morning. He is going to college to be a chiropractor. He will spend 3 years at Murray (about 45 minutes from us), and then 3 years either at Logan Chiropractic or Lee University. He is excited. It will be alot of hard work. His first 4 years are Pre Med.

Congratulations on your son's graduation. I have a son that is graduating this year also. Do you homeschool? I wasn't for sure because it looks like the graduation was in a school gym. You said all your brothers and sisters were there. I didn't see Steve. I was just curious.
Thank you. He went to public school. It'a a very good school, but it is a public school. Steve was there. We took the picture for a "then and now" picture. My sister has a picture of the same group 16 years ago. Steve wasn't in the old pic, that is why he is not in this one. I didn't even realize he was the only sibling not in the picture until I posted it. I'll have to post some more pics. :)
Okay I thought that you homeschooled your children. I would love to see some more pictures. Very nice family. You all look like your very close.
Give DJ a hug for us and congratulate him too. Time has flown by so quickly. I still remember him at 2 years old. He's not that little chunk anymore, he's grown into a handsome young man.
Tammi- It seems like yesterday he was that chunky 2 year old. We miss you guys!
WOW! You make me feel old ~ smile. Joleesa graduate too. How great and how wierd is that your oldest and my youngest. PTL that your brothers, sisters AND mom and dad AND uncles were all there. That speaks a multitude of how God has kept your family close over the years AND the miles.
I'm glad to hear your grandma is doing ok. We went and visited her a couple of years ago.
I'll have to remember to come visit here more often to keep up to date ~grin.
Was great to see DJ hanging out with the young people after camp. God bless.
Wish we could have made it to the graduation, but we were in the middle of our move to Oklahoma. We are proud of DJ's accomplishments. The pictures are great, nice to see everyone. Take care! Amy
